Goals
For the Frankfurt fashion week 2021 a group of commilitones and myself teamed up with the AMD Wiesbaden to bring digital fashion to the city of Frankfurt a.M.
The goals were to design posters with QR codes that revealed an AR set showcasing fashion in an appropriate setting in full 3D, thus creating a bridge between the real and digital world.
My work on the project
I was tasked with combining all the 3D elements and programming the scripts that make our scene work in AR using Unity Engine.
This project allowed me to use some of my programming skills and engine knoweledge I had aquired throughout the years. Not only were the technical aspects of AR challenging, the most enjoyable part of this project was understanding the fashion design students vision and bringing it into the real(-ish) world. Finding compromises and understanding the goals and pain points of not only the designer, but also the users using our app.
